Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 30, 2026
This policy explains what Songwright collects, how that data is used, and how to remove it.
Your Songs and Recordings
All songs, audio tracks, lyrics, and metadata you create stay on your device and in your private iCloud account. They are not sent to our servers, and we have no way of reading or accessing your data.
Account and Authentication
Songwright uses Sign in with Apple to create an account. Your name and email — or Apple's private relay address, if you choose to hide your real email — are stored by our authentication provider so we can identify you across devices.
You can delete your account at any time from the Account screen inside the app. Deleting your account removes your authentication record and your iCloud-synced songs and recordings.
Diagnostics and Analytics
Songwright collects diagnostic information (crashes and non-fatal errors) and aggregate usage analytics through third-party services to improve the app. This data does not include any of your content or identifiers.
In-App Purchases
Apple processes all payments through StoreKit; Songwright never receives your payment information. Subscription and one-time-purchase status is managed by a third-party service so your purchases can be restored on new devices.
Device Permissions
- Microphone — used to record audio tracks. Audio is saved only to your device and iCloud.
- Speech Recognition — used to transcribe recordings into lyrics. Transcription runs entirely on your device.
Third-Party Services
We work with third-party providers for authentication, crash and error reporting, analytics, and purchase management. Each provider is bound by its own privacy policy, and we share only the data necessary for that provider to perform its function.
Children's Privacy
Songwright is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
